A party is planned in Seneca, Friday evening to celebrate the grand opening of Main street and the Pony Express Re-Ride.

The "Hit the Bricks" event will kick off at six o'clock Friday night with a ribbon cutting in front of the Pony Express Museum at the corner of 6th and Main streets; a small parade will follow. After the parade everyone will be able to enjoy food, games, drinks and music through the night. The KMZA wheel of fortune will available to

Later, that night the Pony Express Re-Ride will pass through Seneca between 11:00pm and midnight on their way to their final destination of St. Joseph, Missouri on Saturday morning.

The event is being sponsored by Seneca Downtown Impact, the Seneca Chamber of Commerce, Seneca Travel and Tourism, the Washington Educational Tour Group and United Bank of Seneca.
