Annual EEO Public File Report
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report ("Report") is to comply with Section
73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC's 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on
behalf of the
Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): KNZA
HIWATHA, KS.
KMZA SENECA, KS. KLZA FALLS CITY, NE. and is required to be placed in the public
inspection files of these stations, and posted on their websites, if they have
websites.
The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning MARCH
10,
2003 to and including JANUARY 31,2004 (the "Applicable Period").
The FCC's 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following
information:
1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the
Station Employment
Unit during the Applicable Period;
2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy
(including, if
applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section
73.2080(c)(I)(ii) of the
new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name,
address, contact
person and telephone number;
3. The recruitment source that referred the hiree for each full-time vacancy
during the
Applicable Period;
4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time
vacancies during the
Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each
recruitment source
utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to
Section 73.2080( c )(2) of
the FCC rules.
Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to
provide the
required information. Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under
the column
entitled "Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized" refer to the
number of the
full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.
For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed "filled" not when the offer
was
extended but when the hiree accepted the job offer. A person was deemed
"interviewed"
whether he or she was interviewed in person, over the telephone or by e-mail.

IN THE KANSAS ASSOCIATION OF .BROADCASTERS ANNUAL STUDENT
SEMINAR AND CAREER F AIR ON APRIL 16, 2003 IN WICHITA KANSAS. (THE
FAIR'S INFORMATION SHEET IS ATTACHED). THIS IS ONE OF THE REQUIRE
FOUR JOB F AIRS FOR THIS OUTREACH INITIATIVE FOR THE CURRENT TWO
YEAR PERIOD. TWO MORE JOB/CAREER FAIRS ARE ALREADY SCHEDULED
FOR THIS COMING SPRING.
KNZA INC RADIO STATIONS BROADCAST INFORMATIONAL
ANNOUNCEMENTS PROMOTING THIS EVENT. (DATES AND TIMES OF THESE
ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE ATTACHED.) AT THIS EVENT WE TALKED AND
ENCOURAGED THE ATTENDEES (MOST OF WHICH WERE STUDENTS) ON
WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO TO GET INTO THE BROADCASTING BUSINESS.
ENCOURAGEMENT AND ADVICE WAS ALL THAT COULD BE GIVEN AT THIS
EVENT, AS WE HAD NO JOB VACANCIES AT THAT TIME.
WE DID ACCEPT RESUMES AND AIR CHECKS FROM THE ATTENDEES
FOR ANY OPENING WE MIGHT HAVE IN THE FUTURE.

KNZA INC DID NOT HAVE A NEED TO USE THE KAB JOB BANK
DURING THIS REPORTING PERIOD. KNZA INC HAS IN THE PAST AND WILL
IN THE FUTURE USE THE KAB JOB BANK TO POST JOB OPENINGS. THE KAB
JOB BANK IS LINKED TO THE NASBA JOB BANK. POSTING ON THE
INTERNET HAS BEEN AN EXCELLENT OUTREACH SOURCE FOR FINDING
JOB SEEKERS IN THE PAST .ONE OF OUR COMMUNITY GROUPS WHO HAVE
ASKED TO BE NOTIFIED ABOUT OUR JOB OPENINGS ADDED OUR ONE
OPENING THIS YEAR AND WE RECEIVED AN APPLICATION FROM THAT
WEB POSTING.

KNZA INC HAS MADE A FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE NEWLY
FORMED KAB FOUNDATION FOR BROADCAST SCHOLARSHIPS. IN PAST
YEARS KNZA INC HAS PROMOTED THE KAB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. WE
HA VE THE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE AT OUR STATIONS. AND HAVE HAD
PEOPLE INQUIRE ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS DUE TO ON-AIR
ANNOUNCEMENTS WE HAVE AIRED. WE HAVE HAD A CURRENT KNZA INC
EMPLOYEE ALSO ASK ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AS HE WAS
LOOKING TO GO BACK TO COLLEGE.

Purpose of the Career Fair
...is to provide a pool of prospective broadcast students to participating
educational institutions
and a pool of prospective job applicants to participating radio and television
stations.
NOTE: To count as part of a menu option in the new E EO rule, your participation
in job
fairs must be by station personnel who have a substantial responsibility in the
hiring decisions. fjii:"'
The new E EO rule (effective March 10,2003) outreach requirements apply to
broadcast "station "-:
employment units" (SEU) with 5 or more employees. SEUs with less than 5
employees must
abide by the anti-discrimination requirement. SEU is one or more stations that
are commonly
owned or controlled, located in the same market and share at least one employee.
The Career Fair immediately follows the annual KAB Student Seminar, at which we
expect more than 200 high school and college students.
Hours
Prior to 12:00 noon Set up
12:00- 2:30 Job seekers and students visit with broadcasters and educators at
-schools' /stations' respective tables.
Station participation
FREE to member stations in exchange for airing Career Fair announcements
MP3 file included with :60 radio spot
Copy for Television community calendar provided
A table and two chairs will be provided for each participating station and
school
(Bring your own sign / station identification).
Promotion
1) Direct mail to high school counselors/media instructors
2) PSA, news releases to radio and TV stations, daily and weekly and college
newspapers
