Christmas Store Set For December 10th in Nemaha County Final plans are underway for the 2004 Nemaha County Christmas Store. This year's store will be held Friday, December 10th at the Community Building in Seneca. Similar to last year, the focus will be to assist income eligible individuals and/or families with providing Christmas gifts for their children. Each registered individual or family will also receive enough food for a holiday dinner. Last year's Christmas Store served 110 families, including 211 children within Nemaha County. Individuals and/or families needing assistance this holiday season are asked to register in person at the Nemaha County NEK-Cap outreach office located in the Community Building in Seneca or the Hillcrest in Sabetha. To be eligible to participate in the Christmas Store, an individual or family income level must fall below 125 percent of the poverty guideline set forth by the federal government. Applications for the store will be accepted through Monday, December 6th. However, early registration is strongly encouraged. The Nemaha County Christmas Bureau is also currently accepting donations of new clothing and shoes, new toys and gift items, non-perishable food items and toiletry items. If you wish to contribute, specially marked boxes will be placed at various businesses throughout the county beginning November 15th. Monetary donations are also accepted, and should be sent to the
