Arrest Two On Drug Charges The Nemaha county sheriff's Department arrested two people on drug charges after checking out property in the southern part of the country. 38 year old Jeffrey Cooper of Clay Center and 25 year old April Brandt of Soldier were arrested Monday on Charges of manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass. The Sheriff's department received a request Monday from Mary Ann Hughes of Topeka, who owns property in southern Nemaha County, to check on her property and make sure no one was staying there. Upon arrival. deputies found signs of trespassers and proceeded to search the property. Deputies located Cooper and Brandt hiding underneath a vacant trailer house on the property. During the search they also found various items used in the manufacture of meth. Cooper and Brandt were booked into the Nemaha County Jail. |
