Habitat To Build Home In Waterville The Marshall County Habitat for Humanity will build their next home in Waterville. Jana Lea Jenkins and her 12 year old son, Levi have been selected to receive the new Habitat for Humanity home. The home will be built in the 200 block of East Main in Waterville between two existing homes on property donated late last year by Raymond and Dorothy Linquist. Construction is to start as soon as the parcel is surveyed. A concrete slab foundation is to be poured in October. The house will be a one-story, two-bedroom home with a carport at the rear, similar to the other four houses built by Habitat in Marshall County over the past nine years. Volunteer workers donate most of the labor. There's no interest charged, but partner families are expected to help build their homes and work on another Habitat home. People with Habitat homes make payments they can afford, with the money going to help build new homes. A committee picks the recipients. |
