Seneca Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting At last nights Board of Zoning appeals meeting a variance was requested by Nemaha County to allow them to extend the current storage building that is located just west of the Nemaha County Sheriff's building. Nemaha County Emergency Preparedness Director Dave Carlson and Nemaha County Commissioner Frank Kuckelman were present at the meeting to make the request. Kuckelman said that the county wants to add a 33 foot extension to the building to the north, and that the north end of the storage building will be flush with the front of the Sheriff's building. The Board of Zoning appeals approved a motion to grant a 13 foot variance. The building is currently being used to store the county's lawn care equipment. The added space to the building will be used to store Emergency Preparedness equipment. In other business, the board heard a request from Angel Hecht of 207 South 15th Street in Seneca for a conditional use permit to allow her to operate a day care center in a residential district. Hecht said that she was in the process of obtaining her license and that she would not have more than 10 children. Hecht said that she currently has 5 children and one is her own. A motion was approved to grant the conditional use permit. No one appeared at the meeting to protest either of the requests. |
