Girl‘s Varsity: Katie Huerter (B&B) 16 points
It was a rivalry rematch of the season opener; B&B came in looking for the sweep of Axtell on the season, while the Eagles of the Axtell were in search of their first win on the season. Axtell scored the first basket of the game, but after that it was all B&B Falcons as they went on a 28-0 run in the first quarter stretching into the second quarter. That run helped pace B&B to a 51-13 victory over Axtell, as the Falcons notched their fourth win on the season (4-2). During the 28-0 stretch run sophomore, Katie Huerter, had three straight baskets, two coming off turnovers she forced. Huerter finished the night with 16 points leading the way for the Falcons. Axtell fell to 0-6 on the season with the loss.
Boy‘s Varsity: Cody Heiman (B&B) 14 points
The B&B Falcons looked to stay undefeated while their opponents the Axtell Eagles look to notch their first win of the year under their belt. The first quarter was back and forth for the early going, then B&B opened up a six point lead after the 1st quarter, than expanded it to a 13 point lead at the half. Led by senior, Cody Heiman the Falcons were able to notch the 40-27 victory over the Eagles to stay undefeated (6-0). Heiman finished the contest with 14 points while Aaron Schmelzle countered him with 15 for Axtell. It was not only Heiman‘s points but also his defense as well as his teams defense that helped the Falcons fight over the Eagles in the early stages to secure a lead and the win. Axtell fell to 0-6 on the season with the loss.
