The Kansas State High School Activities Association released its new classifications on Tuesday, with several Kanzaland schools affected. Most notably, Nemaha Valley and Riverside are now in Class 3A in all sports. Hiawatha will drop down to 3A for its football classification, but will remain a 4A school in all other sports. In the Delaware Valley League, Jeff County North moves down to 2A in all sports. The JCN football team already is a part of 2A. The McLouth football team will go down to 2A, But all other teams are still a member of Class 3A. From the Twin Valley League, the Valley Heights football program stays in Clas 2-1A, but its school classification drops to 1A, while the Blue Valley football team will compete in 8-Man Division II. The new football rankings take effect for the 2012 and 2013 seasons, but the changes for all other sports take effect immediately.
