The Kansas State High School Activities Association released its new football district assignments for the 2012 and 2012 seasons on Wednesday. In 4A, traditional powers Holton and Hayden remain in District 9 with Royal Valley and Wamego. Making the move to 3A football, Hiawatha joins Horton, Sabetha and Riverside in District 1 while Nemaha Valley will be in District 2 with Marysville, Riley County and Rock Creek. DVL schools Pleasant Ridge, ACCHS and Maur Hill are in District 3 along with Silver Lake.
The 2-1A District 1 features Valley Heights, Centralia/Wetmore, Doniphan West, Troy and Jackson Heights. In 8-Man Division II, B&B and Hanover highlight a loaded District 1 that also includes Axtell, Bern, Frankfort and Blue Valley.
