Holton‘s Miller Shines at 4A State Golf, Jeff West Fares Well

Holton sophomore Kyrstie Miller capped off her great season with a second place finish at the 4A state golf tournament Monday at Topeka Country Club. Miller and Topeka Hayden‘s Brook LaRue distanced themselves from the field with 82s to force a playoff, but LaRue sank a short par putt on the first hole to win her second state title. The Jeff West team also had a good ending to a great season, as the Tigers shot a team score of 409 to take third behind Buhler (1st) and Andale (2nd). The Tigers were led by Jade Brake who finished tied for 12th (97) and Abbie Thelen who shot a 98 to tie for 16th. Also from Jeff West, Kate Richmond and Ally West both shot 107s.
